Carey Rockwell was the pen name used for the Tom Corbett, Space Cadet series of science fiction novels published in the 1950s. The series was a multimedia franchise that included novels, a television show, comic strips, and radio programs. The eight novels follow Tom Corbett and his unit-mates at the Space Academy as they train to become members of the Solar Guard, a futuristic space patrol. The books were ghostwritten by various authors under the house name, reflecting the era's optimistic vision of space exploration and military service. The series was one of the most popular juvenile science fiction properties of the early Space Age.
