Edward Frederick Knight (1852–1925) was an English barrister, journalist, and adventurer who combined careers in law and journalism with remarkable real-life expeditions. He served as a war correspondent for The Times in several conflicts and lost his right arm during the Boer War. Knight's most celebrated adventure was his treasure-hunting voyage to the island of Trinidad (not the Caribbean nation) in search of buried pirate treasure, recounted in The Cruise of the Alerte (1890).
