Edison Marshall (1894–1967) was an American author of adventure fiction, historical novels, and short stories. He won the O. Henry Award for best short story in 1921 and wrote prolifically for popular magazines including The Saturday Evening Post and Cosmopolitan. Marshall was also a big-game hunter and world traveler whose adventures provided material for his fiction. His novels and stories are set in exotic locations around the world, featuring outdoor adventure, wildlife encounters, and romantic plots.
