Franklin W. Dixon is the collective pseudonym used by various ghostwriters of The Hardy Boys mystery series, created by Edward Stratemeyer and first published in 1927. The original volumes were primarily written by Leslie McFarlane, a Canadian journalist. The series follows teenage brothers Frank and Joe Hardy as they solve mysteries in the fictional city of Bayport. With over 300 volumes published and more than 70 million copies sold, The Hardy Boys is one of the longest-running and best-selling series in children’s literature.
